Through the panic, pain and distress of brexit, we are letting the anxiety of a bad European divorce bring us down, everyone has become sluggish and downtrodden, even Karl Largerfeld took to BoF with an interview underpinned by financial uncertainty within fashion and more prominently now within the UK market.
Although, we know there is one woman who is here to stay, she can pull us back up from the social ambiguity and be the sliver lining to this unfashionable cloud; this woman is Madam Jeanette.
Madame Jeanette is the newest, sassiest and hottest magazine out there; created by students studying the International Fashion and Editorial minor at Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) two of which from WSA - Sion Boylan and Sian Samuel - the magazine has been created over the course of 20 weeks with exceptional results. Madame Jeanette is the QOFE (FYI: Queen of f**king everything). She believes that the fashion industry takes itself way too seriously, so darlings it’s time to spice things up.
Her reports are delivered in typical straightforward, sassy style giving even the most respected celebutantes a push in the right direction... and that is right out of the limelight sweetie.
Madame Jeanette pushes us to think outside of the box and not be content with the usual plate of pop culture trash we are served; ‘Conform’ is certainly not a word that would be found in Madame Jeanette’s dick-tionary. She’s changing the way we think and the way we print.
“Madame Jeanette offers people the chance to make a decision. We’re so used to the decision already being made for us, the magazines we buy - they are already printed, the only decision we have to make is whether to buy it or not. Madame Jeanette makes you challenge yourself, she’s testing her consumer and offering them an important choice”, said Souraya Bouwmans-Sarraf, director of AMFI.
At the beginning of the month, AMFI launched their print-on-demand concept in collaboration with The American Book Centre in Amsterdam. Produced using the Espresso Book Machine, the magazine is printed, cut and bound in under 5 minutes, this innovative concept come with 0% wastage, making it the most sustainable retail printing solution in publishing to date. Press and visitors who attended the Madame Jeanette concept space in by AMFI, Spui 23, Amsterdam, were rewarded with the chance to choose 1 of 4 full colour covers whilst getting to know the Queen of sass. Fabulous darling!
The diva’s day was held exclusively for press and her esteemed influencers. Madame Jeanette then lead the party to Supperclub, Singel 460, hosting a cock- tail party for her sponsors, advertisers, and influencers. In true Madame Jeanette style, she kicked off her extravagant after party; starting at 00:00, that was open to the public.
‘The magazine’s launch was a roaring success and I am so pleased to be part of the talented team who have made the concept a reality. Print on-demand is an increasingly costly venture but its now down to the consumers to make a conscious step towards more sustainable publishing, we built Madame Jeanette with that precedent’ said Sion Boylan, Contributor and Sales & Marketing Manager for Madame Jeanette.
Follow Madame Jeanette on her social media channels to stay up to date throughout the year and get the exclusive behind the scenes look at life with the leading lady.
But for now we shall put all our daily worries behind us; revel in guilt free, top quality no-waste printing. And if you’re hanging your head in shame following our countries hasty departure of it’s family home, make good use of Madame Jeanette’s offering of augmented reality darling… her entertaining Snapchat filters offer a perfect disguise for some political rest bite.
