Level 2 Fashion Management had great day in London visiting Louis Vuitton Series 3 Exhibition, TopShop & Dover Street Market (before it closes to move on) to capture a view on the best new Product concepts for AW15. The LV show was excellent with presenters giving insight into the product development process, how to create a collection and the how the brand has developed, including an artisan at work creating Leather goods by hand. The Dora bag takes 30 hours of craftsmenship from Normandy in France, and sells for modest price of £2,000. Key inspirations for the AW15 Collection include East meets West, Orientation, Antartic, New Classic and Masculinity. They showed well how we can look to the past to create the future. Great insight for developing your new Product Range concepts for SS15 as part of the assignment for Semester 1.
Heres what Emilee Nom Chong from Year 2 Fashion Management had to say
'The exhibition consists of 13 rooms across 3 floors. It incorporated a walkthrough of the history of the brand and an insight behind the collection, the manufacture of individual accessories, a ‘Walk in Wardrobe’ of the collection and digital extracts from their Fall Fashion Show. On my second visit I took the private tour, it educated me about LV itself and also enlightened me, including how this collection was merged upon 5 whole concepts.
One memorable moment from my experience was that all rooms were expressed and designed in very different ways. None of them were the same, each room got more interesting throughout. This is a very unique value as it offered a varied outlook using the skills of digital technology, which reflects how highly developing LV is as a brand.
It was definitely a highlight amongst the many exhibitions I have previously visited. The 'free' ticket price tag doesn't do it justice!
